TMS Standard Protocol

Safe. Effective. Clinically Proven.

Our Deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (Deep TMS) Standard Protocol is designed to deliver symptom relief and long-term stabilization for individuals struggling with treatment-resistant depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD and other mood disorders. It is ideal for individuals who may not tolerate an accelerated protocol due to age, chronic pain or fatigue. In addition, some clients prefer to receive their TMS treatments over several weeks in the morning or afternoon based on their current appointment/work schedules.

Who is the Standard Protocol for?

Our Standard Protocol is ideal for individuals who prefer to attend the clinic regularly for shorter periods of time over an extended period. This may be suitable for individuals who find new environments overstimulating or who find it a struggle to attend the clinic in the morning. In this protocol, most clients begin to notice improvements in their symptoms in week 3 after receiving 20 acute treatment sessions.

What is the Deep TMS Standard Protocol at TMS Life?

Our Standard Protocol consists of 36 treatment sessions delivered in two distinct phases:

The ACUTE phase is focused on achieving maximum therapeutic response.

The goal of the stabilization taper phase is to help maintain the improvements gained during the acute phase and to gradually reduce the number of TMS sessions to assess whether further maintenance or booster sessions are recommended. Many individuals with longstanding mental health conditions benefit from maintenance TMS sesssions.
